When most participants are arriving,
The Academic Folkdance Society,
founded in 1937 by students at the University of Stockholm, preforms close to the registration desk.
Opening Ceremony

In addition to welcome and keynote speeches, there is also entertainment by Fryshuset and Sofia Jannok.
Fryshuset
is a foundation, based in Stockholm, that operates nationwide and with international exchanges. In addition to numerous social projects and youth related recreational activities, Fryshuset also provides education in various forms. During the conference a group of former students at the Aesthetics program’s Creative writing course will give performances under the collective title Words & Action. Fryshuset will perform each day during the conference.

Sofia Jannok
is a young artist from the northern parts of Sweden who enjoys blending influences from jazz, pop and yoik. Her lyrics are a mix of English and her mother tongue Sami.

After the opening ceremony, the participants are invited to drinks and finger food in the exhibition and poster area.

gives a singing welcome at the entrance to the conference venue.
City Hall Reception
Monday 9 July, 19:00-21:00
The County Council of Stockholm invites the participants to a reception in the
City Hall,
the venue of the Nobel Prize dinner.

A new cour takes place at the conference venue’s entrance to welcome the participants -
Vällingby sång och Visa.
Same hour and place also on Wednesday.
Plenary Session 2

This plenary session starts with a song by
Lill Lindfors,
one of Scandinavia's most popular and versatile artists and Sweden's queen of jazz and samba. In 1998, she was the first Swede to become Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.
Cultural Evening at Skansen
Wednesday 11 July, 18:30
The evening at the outdoor museum
Skansen
on the island of Djurgården starts with a drinks and Swedish folk music at the main entrance at 18:30. Between 20:00 and 22:00 food is being served at the restaurant Soliden further up the hill, with a magnificent view of Stockholm. The evening ends with typical Swedish folkparkskväll (live music, dance, and other entertainment in a park) by
Dreams.
Closing Ceremony
Thursday 12 July, 8:30-12:00
Between the speeches of the Closing Ceremony,
Emil Pernblad,
Flamenco Guitarrist, will
perform with his group. Flamenco was first Developed in the 18th
Century is often associated with Gypsy Culture. Andalucia in Spain is
the Heartland of Flamenco, but Flamenco Dance was declared "Intangible
Cultural of Humanity" in 2010 by UNESCO.
